Our Two-Visit Porcelain Veneers Process

Appointment #1 – Consultation and Preparation

During your first visit for veneers at our Lexington office we focus on getting to know you. Our priority is to discover your personal smile goals, what you like and dislike about your current smile, and what you’re hoping to accomplish through cosmetic dentistry treatment. We’ll then help you choose the specific color, size, and shape for your new teeth. We’ll also perform a thorough dental exam, assessing your bone, teeth, gums, bite, and facial muscles. With our Digital Smile Design software, we can then give you a preview of what your smile will look like after we’ve finished your treatment. You’ll be able to view your future smile before we perform any procedures, allowing you to confirm that it’s the way you want it. Lastly, we’ll trim a small amount of enamel from the front surface of each tooth that will be receiving veneers and take impressions that will enable our dental lab to create your veneers. You’ll return to our Lexington office after about two weeks to get your final customized veneers attached.

Appointment #2 – Porcelain Veneer Placement

During your next appointment, we’ll assess how each veneer fits onto your teeth and looks next to other teeth or veneers. This includes checking the color and shape of the veneers to ensure they create a seamless, harmonious smile. We finish by permanently bonding the veneers to your teeth with a special cement and curing light.
