Our Two-Step Porcelain Veneers Process

Step #1 – Discussion and Planning

During your first visit at our Wagener practice, we concentrate on getting to know your needs. Our chief concern is to ascertain your personal smile goals, your attitude toward your current smile, and what you want to gain from cosmetic dentistry treatment. From there, we’ll help you decide on the precise color, size, and shape of your new teeth. We’ll also complete a meticulous dental exam, evaluating your bone, teeth, gums, bite, and facial muscles. Using Digital Smile Design software, we can then offer you a glimpse of what your new veneers will look like after your treatment is complete. You’ll actually preview your smile upgrade before we make any changes, giving you the opportunity to help us craft it. Finally, we’ll remove a small layer of enamel from the front of each treated tooth and make impressions that our dental lab will use to create your custom veneers. You’ll come back to our Wagener, SC office in about two weeks to have your final veneers affixed.

Step #2 – The Placement Procedure

At your next appointment, we could simply put your veneers in place and send you on your way. We never do that, however. Instead, we evaluate how each veneer fits onto your teeth and looks alongside other veneers or your natural teeth. This includes examining the shade and shape of your veneers to confirm that they contribute to a harmonious smile. Once this is established, we permanently bond the veneers to your teeth using dental cement and a curing light.
