Our General Dentistry Services

Dental Exams
Our dental exams are comprehensive, including a thorough dental cleaning with a gentle hygienist and an evaluation by one of our experienced dentists. Our protocol includes assessing your teeth for cavities with our non-invasive DIAGNOdent™ caries detection device. We also perform thorough oral cancer screenings in order to catch warning signs before they develop any further. Especially for our young patients, we provide fluoride treatment and sealants to further protect and strengthen teeth against decay. We may also recommend x-rays, which we complete with our low-radiation cone beam CT technology.

Restorative Dentistry
We understand that chips, cracks, worn down teeth, and missing teeth can not only cause esthetic concerns, but health issues as well. At Bela Family Dentistry we only use tooth-colored materials including composite fillings and bonding, porcelain veneers, and ceramic crowns and bridges. In order to ensure each restoration is not only esthetically appealing but will be reliable for years to come, we custom design everything, including crowns and bridges, in our office. Before you leave your appointment, we’ll be sure your smile not only meets your esthetic goals but your functional ones as well.

TMJ Treatment
TMJ disorder often develops because the jaw joints and/or teeth are misaligned. We treat TMJ problems with mouthguards, which protect the teeth from grinding and clenching (a result of malocclusion and a common symptom of TMJ disorder), allow the jaws to move into a more natural position, and let the facial and jaw muscles relax and rest. Orthodontics, another successful solution, helps relieve symptoms of TMJ disorder by realigning the teeth to reduce grinding and clenching and improve the alignment and comfortable function of the jaw joints.
3
Sleep Apnea Treatment
Sleep apnea is a dangerous condition characterized by repeated and frequent cessations in breathing during sleep. This is due to the lower jaw, tongue, and tissues in the mouth that have fallen back and are partially (snoring) or fully (breathing cessations) blocking the airway. We follow the six-step protocol, as developed by prosthodontist Dr. Jeff Rouse and taught through Spear® Education, to evaluate your condition and create a personalized airway management strategy with mouthguards. These appliances hold your jaw, tongue, and tissues forward, keeping your airway open to improve sleep.
