Taylor, a part time dental assistant joined our team in 2015. Born and raised in Trenton, SC and a Strom Thurmond graduate, Taylor is enjoying furthering her education at Midlands Technical College where she is majoring in dental hygiene.
After joining Dr. Cook, she was able to receive on the job training and is now certified in dental radiography.
When Taylor is not in school or working, she enjoys travelling and spend time with her fur baby (a Boykin Spaniel) named Cash.
Mia Patient Advocate
Mia is originally from Allendale, SC and attended high school in Barnwell. She attended college in Orangeburg, SC where she obtained her bachelor's in criminal justice and minored in education.
Mia fell in love with Dentistry in 2015. She says, "I enjoy seeing my patients smile! Connecting with them and building relationships is very important to me and makes my job so enjoyable!"
Mia has two beautiful daughters and when she is not at work she loves reading, cooking, and doing make-up! (She is a licensed cosmetologist!)
She is also currently working on obtaining her master's at Strayer University.
Averie Hygiene Coordinator
Averie has been our Hygiene Coordinator since June of 2018. She was born and raised in Edgefield, SC and is a Strom Thurmond Alumni. She went on to continue her education at the University of South Carolina Aiken and studied Sociology and Educational Studies.
Being new to the dentistry field, she has thoroughly enjoyed learning every day. She looks forward to continuing to expand her knowledge and learn from our team. Averie is passionate about helping and educating others and has enjoyed meeting and building relationships with our patients.
Averie enjoys spending time with her husband, Drew, their family, friends and four- legged babies, Radar and Buddie. She also enjoys hunting and traveling.
Amy Practice Manager
Amy, our Practice Manager, is originally from Portland, Oregon. After graduating High School, she joined the United States Marine Corps and was active duty for nine years. She lived a number of places across the U.S. and ultimately moved to South Carolina in 2008.
Amy finished a Bachelor of Science in Business in 2013 and began working in the dental field that same year. Since that time, she has worked administratively and as an assistant. What Amy loves most about being the Practice Manager is that she gets to work with an amazing team who is dedicated to providing their patients with the best experience imaginable while helping them achieve greater oral and total body health.
Amy, and her four daughters, love spending time together going to the movies, shopping, or getting away for fun weekend trips.
